Certified TapRooT® Instructors – ACTION REQUIRED!

Meet the Requirements to Maintain Your TapRooT® Certified Instructor Status

Last year, we changed the schedule for the Global TapRooT® Summit to every 18 months vs. every 12 months. We notified every Certified TapRooT® Instructor that they are required to attend the Summit and a pre-Summit Course this coming September 29 – October 3 in Knoxville, TN.

We believe this provides several benefits, including:

  1. All Certified TapRooT® Instructors will be familiar with the latest updates to the TapRooT® Training Materials.
  2. All Certified TapRooT® Instructors will be able to network with instructors from around the world.
  3. SI will have an additional six months to choose speakers and sessions for the next Summit and thereby improve the quality of the Summit even more.

What does this mean for you (a Certified TapRooT® Instructor)? If you haven’t done so already, you need to register for the 2025 Global TapRooT® Summit NOW! To register, CLICK HERE. If you don’t, your certification will expire and you won’t be able to teach additional 2-Day TapRooT® Courses.

Pre-Summit Courses To Choose From

There are 11 pre-Summit Courses that you can choose from as part of your certification maintenance. They are:

Of course, you should choose the course that will help you the most in your career. Click a link above to find out more about a particular course.

Here are my course recommendations for Certified Instructors…

1. Advanced Communication/Presentation Skills

Vincent

Vincent Phipps, a communication expert, will share best practices to improve your communication and presentation skills in a class titled:

Advanced Communication/Presentation Skills

As a Certified TapRooT® Instructor, you need to read the people in the class, hold their attention, and inspire them to effectively use the TapRooT® RCA Tools to find and fix the root causes of accidents, incidents, quality problems, equipment failures, and operational issues. Thus, the quality of your class is highly dependent on your communication/presentation skills.

Prior class participants have commented about how:

  • Much they learned in the class applied to what they do,
  • The class was so interactive,
  • Vincent was a great model for any instructor, and
  • Much fun they had.

If you haven’t attended this class, you don’t want to miss out.

2. Interviewing and Evidence Collection

Barb Carr is the developer and one of the instructors for this course.

Often, instructors tell us that their students need to improve their interviewing and evidence collection skills. Skills that aren’t taught in the 2-Day TapRooT® Course. However, we do have a course to improve these skills titled:

Interviewing and Evidence Collection

Attend this course to see what your students may need to learn.

After the course, you can:

  • Find out about licensing this material to add it to your 2-Day TapRooT® Course (to make it a 3-Day TapRooT® Course with an interviewing and evidence collection section.
  • Schedule a co-teach of the course.
  • Start teaching the course as part of your licensed training.

Don’t wait! This course size is limited. Register ASAP.

3. Advanced Case Study Workshop

Tim Diggs is our lead instructor for developing the

Advanced Case Study Workshop

Do you want to learn more advanced TapRooT® Skills that can help you be a better TapRooT® Instructor (because you better understand the TapRooT® System)? Then this course might be the one for you.

You might notice that we don’t call this a course because almost all the learning is done by using skills while analyzing case studies.

Some of the skills you will hone include:

  • New ways of applying TapRooT® RCA to investigations,
  • Grouping of conditions on a SnapCharT® Diagram,
  • Defining Causal Factors.
  • Using the Root Cause Tree® Diagram,
  • New TapRooT® Software features, and
  • Grading investigations.
