Benefits of the 2027 Summit

2027 Global TapRooT® Summit – How Does It Work?
The 2027 Global TapRooT® Summit will be held on April 5-9 at the Margaritaville Resort at Lake Conroe (near Houston).
To understand why five days at the TapRooT® Summit can be so beneficial to your company and to your career, you need to first understand how the TapRooT® Summit works. Then we can explain the benefits to you and your company.
The Summit is five days long. It starts on Monday-Tuesday with optional 2-Day pre-Summit courses focused on performance improvement. (More about these courses below.) Next, the Summit runs from Wednesday through Friday at noon and has a mixture of Keynote Speakers and Best Practice Breakout Sessions.
A 2-Day Course is only $1,795. The Summit is only $1,295. If you attend both the course and the Summit, the combined fee is $2,790 (you save $300).
Below are the course and Summit details.
Pre-Summit Courses (Monday-Tuesday, April 5-6)

The Summit starts on Monday and Tuesday with two days of optional courses. These courses include our standard public 2-Day TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Course and six special courses offered only before the Summit. The courses include:
- 2-Day TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis
- Equifactor® Equipment Troubleshooting and TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Training
- Analyzing & Fixing Safety Culture
- Advanced Presentation Skills
- TapRooT® Software & AI
- Effective Interviewing & Evidence Collection
- Learning Teams & Root Cause Analysis for Proactive Improvement
Certified TapRooT® Instructors are required to pick one of these courses to maintain their certification. For others, the courses are optional; they are an excellent opportunity to get advanced training that isn’t otherwise available.
Plus, when someone registers for both the pre-Summit and the Summit, they receive a $300 discount on the course price ($1295-$300 = $995.00 – Only $2,790 for the whole week). To receive even more discounts, register three or more people at the same time (see potential discounts below).

One more thing … When you register early, you qualify for a chance to get an earlybird prize.
The Summit (Wednesday-Friday, April 7-9)
The Global TapRooT® Summit includes four main events…
- Five Keynote Speakers
- Seven Best Practice Tracks with nine sessions in each track
- Networking events
- Fun!
Read on to learn how each of these events makes the Summit beneficial to you and your company.
Keynote Speakers
The Summit Keynote Speakers are selected to educate, motivate, and communicate best practices.
This year, on Wednesday, we start with the story of a major investigation by Darrin Wertz, a TapRooT® User.
The closing Keynote Speaker on Wednesday is Ryan Lavarnway, professional baseball player and Olympian. He will share his story of persistence that will help you keep trying even when the going gets tough.
On Thursday, the opening Keynote Speaker will be Dan Verlinde, System Improvements CTO. He will share the latest updates to the TapRooT® Software and a special new optional addition – The TapRooT® RCA AI Software.
The closing Keynote Speaker on Thursday is Heather MacDougall, SVP of HSE, J.D., CSP, and LinkedIn safety influencer, who will share ideas that are on the cutting edge of safety improvement.
The closing Summit speaker is Olympian Noelle Pikus-Pace, who will send you back to work with motivation to make your improvement ideas happen.
Motivation turns ideas into action. And action that benefits your company also benefits your career.
Best Practice Tracks
This year, there are six Best Practice Tracks. They focus on:
- Improving Root Cause Analysis
- Stopping SIFs
- Human Performance
- Equipment Reliability and Maintenance
- Continuous Improvement to Achieve High Reliability
- Psychology of Excellent Performance
The tracks have nine sessions. When you register, you can pick all the sessions in a track or mix and match the sessions of your choice from any of the tracks. That lets you customize the Summit to help you solve your company’s biggest challenges.

These sessions are where you will hear about best practices, share lessons learned, and benchmark your processes against other industry leaders. Previous attendees have told us that the ideas they take home have been invaluable (definitely beneficial). Beneficial for their company and beneficial to their career.
Networking and Socializing

We want you to meet new, valuable contacts. That is why we create opportunities for that to happen. What are these opportunities?
- The Name Game
- Women in TapRooT® Meeting
- The Wednesday Night Reception
- Breakfasts on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Lunch on Wednesday and Thursday.
- The Advisory Board Meeting
- The Advisory Board Dinner
- Networking Opportunities and Meetings Using the Whova app.
In just the first event, The Name Game, you will meet at least three new, valuable contacts and, if you have been to the Summit before, renew friendships with people you met at previous Summits.
Sometimes who you know (who you meet at the Summit) can be the most beneficial part of your Summit experience. These new contacts can help you benchmark your improvement efforts and share best practices. All of which benefits your company and you. Plus, you never know where you will meet your next great hire to strengthen your team.
Fun!

You learn more when you are having fun. That’s why, in over 30 years of holding the Summit, we have learned how to build in FUN into the Summit
Participants tell us about all the fun they have and how many friends they make.
Plus, the Summit is being held at the Margaritaville Resort at Lake Conroe (just outside of Houston).
