Heinz Bloch, Equipment Reliability Expert and Contributor to the Equifactor® Troubleshooting and TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis System

Heinz Bloch

RIP Heinz Bloch

Heinz P. Bloch, equipment reliability expert, and contributor to the Equifactor® Troubleshooting and TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Systems, passed away on August 20, 2022, after a brief illness.

He spent a large fraction of his career as an equipment reliability expert at Exxon. I met him after he started his consulting career. Together we discussed equipment reliability and how troubleshooting equipment failures was a necessary part of finding the root causes of equipment failures. This discussion led to the development of the Equifactor® Troubleshooting Techniques and the Equifactor® Troubleshooting Course.

Heinz Bloch

Heinz was a prolific writer, passing on his great wealth of knowledge. By my last count, he published over 30 books and wrote over 800 papers and articles about various equipment topics.

Heinz Bloch

Also, Heinz was a frequent speaker at professional conferences. He spoke at several of the TapRooT® Summits and was scheduled to speak at the 2023 Global TapRooT® Summit.

Marco, Heinz, and Diana at the Summit

Heinz will be missed by all who knew him and the entire petrochemical industry.
