Automation Experience with a Global Perspective – An Assessment of the Automation Impact on Worker Safety and Health

How has automation affected the mining industry?

The mining industry is transitioning to more automated systems. The United States is about 15-20 years behind Australia, Sweden and others. This NIOSH-funded research was done to determine how mining companies in Australia, Sweden, Chile, South Africa, Brazil, and Canada manage the transition in terms of their workforce. How has the change impacted their error rates, injury record, and productivity? This study and presentation will highlight our findings for the US mining industry.

If you want an informative presentation on how automation affects our mining industry, this session is right for you! Join us at the 2024 Global TapRooT® Summit May 1 – 3. This session occurs on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 1:30 PM.
