31 Years Ago, Spin-A-Cause™ Was Invented

Spin-A-Cause™
What is Spin-A-Cause™? The world’s fastest root cause analysis tool.
The first version was published in Issue 12 of the Root Cause Network™ Newsletter in August 1994.

But that wasn’t the last version. There have been four updates since then…

Which version do you use? If you don’t have one, you can order one HERE.

Do You Need More Than Fast and Easy?
People sometimes pick a root cause analysis tool because it is “fast and easy” – but is it good?
I’ve had several people tell me that they use 5-Whys because it is easy and fast. I’ve never had anyone tell me that it produces superior results. Some do say that it is “good enough for simple incidents.” Some say that it is OK for people on the shop floor. (I guess they believe that they can’t understand anything more complex than asking “Why?” five times.)
But Spin-A-Cause™ and 5-Whys don’t meet the MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for effective root cause analysis. (See the minimum requirements at the link above.)
If you are interested in a relatively easy and fast root cause analysis system for simple incidents that is also thorough enough for serious incidents (like a Potential Significant Injuries and Fatality — PSIF), you should attend TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Training.

We have courses for people investigating low-to-medium risk incidents (the 2-Day TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Course and the 3-Day Virtual TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Course).
We have a course for equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis (the 2-Day Equifactor® Equipment Troubleshooting & TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Course).
We have a course that teaches the essential techniques from the 2-Day Course, the Equifactor® Troubleshooting Techniques, and all the advanced techniques used for major investigations (the 5-Day TapRooT® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Team Leader Training).
If you would like to attend one of our public TapRooT® RCA Courses, see the upcoming schedule for courses held worldwide HERE.
