Recommended Minimum Ice Thickness

Thanks to the Department of Natural Resources for sending out this resource for recommended minimum ice thicknesses as we head into the winter season.

4 inches – ice fishing

5 inches – snowmobile

8 – 12 inches – car or small truck

12- 15 inches – medium truck

50 – 60 inches – AT-AT

100 inches – safe for Godzilla!
