Onshore Robotic Aboveground Storage Tank, IOGP Report

IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers) has announced the release of a new report from the Normally Unattended Facilities (NUF) Expert Group.
IOGP Report 687 – Onshore Robotic Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) Inspection
The increasing use of robotic technologies for onshore tank inspection is delivering clear benefits in safety, data collection, and operational efficiency. However, inconsistent practices across the industry create challenges in planning, deployment, and integration with business processes. This IOGP guideline establishes common recommendations for functional requirements, system capabilities, and operational considerations for robotic inspection of onshore tanks. By promoting industry alignment, this guideline aims to ensure tank inspection is consistent with the latest advancements in the field. This enables the industry to sustain adoption of robotic technologies while ensuring high-quality field service execution with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
