How NOT to Cook Your Thanksgiving Turkey

Planning on deep frying your turkey this Thanksgiving? Remember to fully thaw it before you throw it in the fryer!

Be Safe this Thanksgiving

According to the CPSC, there are over a hundred “turkey-fryer related” fires every year in the United States.

As we all (hopefully) know, water makes grease-fires worse. Because oil and water don’t mix, adding water to a fire only makes to spread more.

What many families don’t realize is that putting frozen goods into the fryer is extremely dangerous. The ice surrounding the turkey melts into water, overflows the pot, and spills enflamed oil everywhere.

If you’re insistent on frying your turkey this Thanksgiving, take caution and make sure there isn’t any ice.

(If you want my two cents, though, you should just bake instead. It’s much healthier!)
