This article will list the ten best restaurants in the Knoxville downtown area. I picked these ten restaurants based on food quality, atmosphere, and service. 10. Sweet P’s Barbecue and Downtown Dive
Sweet P’s is the perfect blend of barbecue and American dive bar. This location is in the art district of downtown Knoxville, so it is easily accessible to any of the hotels downtown. Here you will find some of the best bbq and delectable soul food. If that wasn’t enough to get you there, they have a spacious beer garden where you can enjoy craft beer with your delicious meal.
9. Lonesome Dove Knoxville
If you are looking for fine dining and delicious food, then Lonesome Dove is the place for you. Chef Tim Love offers a unique experience with Western culinary-themed food in a beautiful historic location in Knoxville. Dinners will also find an extensive wine portfolio that pairs well with the predominantly wood-fired menu. One of my favorite things on the menu is the elk-foie gras sliders with blueberry jam.

Check out this unique Asian fusion restaurant in Knoxville’s Old City. Kaizens provides its’ guest with creative Asian dishes you won’t find anywhere else in Knoxville. Their menu also has a daily rotating section that features food such as ribeye fried rice. My husband’s favorite dish is the pork belly fried rice.
7. Chivo Taqueria
Chivo Taqueria is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in downtown Knoxville. Chivo’s offers fantastic food with a twist like my favorite dish, the brisket burrito. Its decor is something to be admired too. You will feel comfy with its blend of Mexican and American culture. Chivo’s also has an unrivaled selection of tequilas, but if tequila isn’t for you, they offer a full-service bar with creative cocktails, wines, and craft beer.
6. Stock and Barrel
Stock and Barrel is a burger lover’s dream! Here you will find locally grown gourmet food, craft cocktails, and a vast selection of bourbon. Stock and Barrell prides itself on its creative burgers selection. Are you feeling like something different than the standard American burger? Then try out the Elvis burger or their lamb burger. Don’t forget to save room for dessert! Their decked out sakes are must try to wash down that delicious meal.

This Knoxville falafel house was named the “Nicest Place in America” by Reader’s Digest. Here you will find fast-casual Mediterranean cuisine served with a welcoming smile. This family-owned restaurant takes great pride in its food, from house-made falafel, pitas, and hummus made with the freshest ingredients daily.

This Market Square staple is a must! The Oliver Royale focuses its menu on local and regional American cuisine. The Royale ramen is one of its most popular dishes. My personal favorite is the confit short rib. They also provide a unique cocktail assortment and delicious after-dinner drinks.

Here is a great place to sip German-style beer, a Gold Medal Winner at the Berlin International Beer Competition. Marble City Market features 11 locally artisanal food concepts, making it great for a group to go out and try different cuisines.
