SnapCharT® File Recovery (v2.0.3)

SnapCharT File Recovery (version 2.0.3)

If a chart is exhibiting strange behavior or giving error messages, you may be able to repair it by carefully following these steps:

- Exit the SnapCharT® Software if it is running.

- Search for and delete the file tapsnap.ini, usually located in the C:\WINDOWS or C:\WINNT directory. If this file becomes corrupt, it will corrupt all future charts. When you delete this file, a new one is automatically created with default values.

- Start the SnapCharT Software from the Start Menu/Programs/TapRooT/SnapCharT Software. (Do NOT start the program by double-clicking on a chart.)

- Place a single temporary object on the new chart.

- Save this new chart as <Filename> Recovered.ECF (or whatever you wish).

- Use File/Open to open the corrupt chart.

- On the corrupt chart, copy the entire chart onto the clipboard using Edit/Select/All and then Edit/Copy

- Switch to the new chart. Use Edit/Paste. You may need to adjust the exact placement of the objects using the mouse or arrow keys.

- Delete the temporary shape that was added earlier.

- Save the chart again.
